Bennie Wayne Chaney

Bennie Chaney, age 69, passed away on Friday June 7, 2019 at his residence in Woodlawn, TN. He was born August 17, 1949 in Rosann, Virginia to Elster and Malinda (Crum) Chaney who precede him in death. On January 17, 1970 he married Beverly Ryan in Owosso, Michigan. She survives in Woodlawn, TN.

Survivors include his children, Michael (Julie) Chaney, Christopher Chaney, Erin (Mark) Obst, and Jessica Chaney; his grandchildren, Madison, Samantha, Jacob, Kendra, Kassandra, Kyle, Grace, Grant, McKenna, Mathilda, and Florence. Also surviving are several siblings, Nancy, Barbara, Linda, Ronnie, and Bryan. Other survivors include many, many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, his siblings, David, Clyde, Kenny Ray, Carol and Gail precede him in death.

In the 1970s and 1980s Bennie was a proud youth baseball coach in Owosso, Michigan. He was also a former Owner/Operator of Chaney Heating and Cooling. One of Bennie’s proudest and most worthwhile accomplishments was being an instrumental part of the founding of The People’s Clinic in Clarksville, TN. He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren, children and his loving wife.
