Brenda Lou (Ellis) Winkler

May 28, 1944 — March 24, 2022

Brenda Lou Ellis Winkler, 77, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2022 surrounded by her family. She was born on May 28, 1944 in Mount Clemens, MI to Lester Ellis, Sr. and Cornelia Byrd Ellis.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Fredrick Winkler Jr. and sister, Peggy Bedard. She is survived by her daughters, Melissa (Richard) Perigo and Jennifer (William) French, both of Clarksville, TN; son, Charles “Chip” Winkler, III of Apache Junction, Arizona; and siblings, Sonny and Tammy Ellis, both of Clarksville, TN.

Brenda was a graduate of Clarksville High School and as a young lady worked at the ticket booth of the Roxy Theater. About that time, she enjoyed water skiing on the Cumberland River and is said to have “skied a million miles on that river”. She also worked in retail, but truly loved and excelled at growing the herbs and vegetables to prepare beautiful meals for her family and friends.

There will be a private ceremony at Greenwood Cemetery at a later time. The family wishes to express their thanks to Brenda’s caregivers and friends at Ahava Healthcare.
