It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Casey Joanne Lundgren, age 45, who left us on September 5, 2024. Casey was born on December 8, 1978, in Dekalb, Illinois. She spent her childhood in Ashton, IL, where she created countless and cherished childhood memories and graduated high school in 1997.
Casey is survived by her three sons: Cameron Lundgren, Gabriel (Akira) Lundgren, and Logan Lundgren; parents, Deborah Worley and Phillip Shaver; and sisters: Carie (Jerry) McCammon, Chasity (David) Moorehead, and Clarissa (Shannon) Hadaway. She is preceded in death by her grandmother, Lela Spencer.
Throughout her life, Casey was known for her kindness, generosity, and ability to light up any room she entered. After moving to Clarksville, TN in 2002, she graduated from Austin Peay State University, starting a lifelong dream of teaching in 2006. Her passion for teaching made a lasting impact on many children at Glenellen Elementary and West Creek Elementary. Casey also had a deep devotion and love for animals and pets. In the most recent years, she followed her heart and began working towards a career in veterinary services.
Casey’s affection for cooking and crafting, combined with her vibrant personality, made her a beloved friend to many. Her sense of adventure and creative spirit inspired everyone to try something new from traveling to new destinations to cooking new culinary dishes. Of all the places Casey traveled, the beach was the one that held a special place in her heart. The sand, sun, and waves were always where she wanted to be.
Casey will be deeply missed by all who know her, but her legacy of love, laughter, and adventure will continue to inspire those she leaves behind. Everyone she encountered in life will forever carry her memory in their hearts.
A Celebration of Life for Casey will be held at the Bravery Pavilion at Liberty Park in Clarksville on September 21, 2024 at 2:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers and gifts, the family kindly requests that donations be made to https://donkeyrescue.org/, in honor of Casey’s continued love and dedication of animals.
