Charles Kenneth Walsh

December 31, 1952 — August 9, 2021

Charles Kenneth Walsh, age 68, passed away on August 9, 2021 in Nashville, TN after battling a long illness. He was born on December 31, 1952 in Queens, NY to Kenneth Banar and Marjorie June Chalmers Walsh, who preceded him in death. His working life was quite varied from car wash to assembly line, laying pipeline, painting apartments, real estate, waiting tables, tending bar to production assistant, and transportation coordinator on the movie Mystery Train. His greatest passion was his photography.

Ever the creative artist and entertainer, Charles loved making art, his photography, and bringing people to laughter. He also loved being outdoors and being at the ocean. He enjoyed meeting people from all walks of life and animals, especially his "kids": Tiny, Tony, and LuLu of the feline persuasion. In recent years he was known to wear a LOT of tie-dye.

He is survived by his step mother, Gail Walsh of New Bedford, MA; sister, Dona McLeskey of Nashville, TN; brothers: Jonathan Walsh of Dharmasala, India, Christopher Walsh of East Hampton, NY, and Kenneth Walsh of New Bedford, MA. He is also survived by his nieces, Catherine McLeskey of Auburn, AL, Hannah Walsh of New Bedford, MA; nephews: Kenneth Ray of Irvine, CA, Thomas McLeskey of Laurel, MS and John Walsh of New Bedford, MA, as well as, many friends.

No one who met Charles Walsh will ever forget his tremendous spark of life and sense of humor. One friend said it best, "He had his own way of interpreting the world, a bright light who will be missed." He definitely left a lasting impression on all he met and especially, most recently, the loving and caring people at the Health Center at Richland Place in Nashville, TN.

In his memory there will be a Drum Circle "up on the hill" in Centennial Park on September 11, 2021 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Donations can be made in his memory to the Emphysema Foundation of America.
