Cheryl Ann Cotten (Bibbs)

November 12, 1959 — May 23, 2024

Clarksville

Cheryl Ann Cotten, 64, of Clarksville, TN, died Thursday, May 23, 2024 at home and surrounded by family and friends after a long battle with renal disease. She was a teacher, a life-long learner, a friend, a mom, a sister, an aunt, and a Grandmama. To many, she was known simply as “Mama”. Cheryl loved so many and was loved by so many; she will be greatly missed.

She was born in Kennett, MO on November 12, 1959 to Kenneth Sherrel Bibbs and Patricia Ann Zimmerman Bibbs. In 1978, she graduated from Our Lady of Victories Catholic High School in Pascagoula, MS. Cheryl held many vocations throughout her life, but her favorite, by far, was “Grandmama”.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her step-father Dr. Philip R. Francis, father Kenneth S. Bibbs, grandparents Hershel Wiley and Goldie Mae Zimmerman, and cousins Randy, Garland, Cindy, and Wade Zimmerman.

She is survived by her husband Joseph R. Nault and sister-wife Deborah E. McNeill of Clarksville, TN, mother Patricia A. Francis of Opelika, AL, brother Kenneth H. Bibbs of Salem, AL, sister Kaye Bibbs DeNormandie of Valley Park, MO, children Bambi A. Okugawa and Brandon P. Barnett of Clarksville, TN, Jonathan M. Boyd of Simpsonville, SC and Bruce W. Boyd of Madisonville, KY, step-daughter Tanya J. Butts of Clarksville, TN, and grandchildren Melody, Ayble, Ja’Niece, Khloe, Rose, Liam, and Tam’Ryn, as well as a large extended family.

A Celebration of Life is being planned for a later date. In lieu of floral arrangements, Cheryl requested plantable gifts be sent to the family or donations made to S.P.I.R.A.L. Grotto (Serving Pagans In Religion and Life) at spiralgrotto@paypal.com.

Please visit Cheryl's tribute wall and share a memory with the family.
