It is with broken hearts that our family returns Eugenia "Jeannie" Ruth Andrew Washington to our Lord. Jeannie passed away suddenly on May 29, 2021 while hospitalized briefly in Nashville, TN. Jeannie was born in Lufkin, Texas on October 1, 1950 to Fleta Neile Odom and William "Bill" Andrew.

Jeannie was a great cook and had a love for cooking and for spicy foods. Jeannie was a loving and caring individual who gave selflessly to her loved ones and anyone in need. Anyone who met her instantly fell in love with her sweet and kind nature. She will be greatly missed.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, John Hingst and sons, Michael Shane Ivy and Seneca Leon Simons. She is survived by her daughter, Shelby Bryant; son-in-law, Jarred Bryant and her only granddaughter, Aly Bryant.

A celebration of Jeannie’s life will be held on July 3, 2021 at the family home with a firework display in her honor as it was one of her favorite things to watch each year.

In lieu of flowers, friends may contribute funds to be used for the purchase of fireworks for Jeannie’s celebration of life.
