Heide Else Hepler

January 31, 1944 — October 6, 2023

Clarksville

Heide Else Hepler, 79, passed away on October 6, 2023, in Clarksville. Born January 31, 1944, in Germany to Margot and Coyle Hepler, former Command Sergeant Major of the 101st Airborne Division (1958-1959). She is survived by her daughter Megan Blackwell, son-in-law Bill, and grandchildren Zach and Cecily of Winchester, MA.

Heide was a lifelong learner, graduating from high school at age 15 and beginning studies at Bethel College. She received a Masters of Arts in Music Education from Austin Peay State University and a Masters of Science in Systems Management Technology from Murray State University.

Heide pursued a variety of careers and always sought outlets for her creativity. She was involved with the Ft. Campbell Children's Theatre since its inception in 1970, where she had fond memories of working with the late Robert L. Taylor and the late Dr. Charles Ball writing original plays such as "The Witch Who Went West" and "The Toymaker." Through her theatre connections, she made a few appearances in costume as a clown cousin on the "Bozo the Clown" show in Nashville. After the Base Realignment and Closure reorganization in the early 1990s, Heide transitioned to Army Community Service as an Outreach Coordinator. She later became a Management Analyst, starting at Ft. Campbell, moving to Mannheim, Germany, and finally to Moffett Field, CA. She had been an Adjunct Music Instructor at the Hopkinsville Community College, a columnist at the Leaf-Chronicle, a real estate agent, a writer/editor of theatre arts publications, and a producer and host of "It's All Good" for KMVT15 in Mountain View, CA.

Heide will be missed and fondly remembered by her family and friends. A virtual Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, February 11th at 3:00 pm (Central time) on zoom.
