James Austin Jordan: 1931-2020

JAMES AUSTIN JORDAN (PECK), 88, peacefully passed in his sleep on April 13, 2020 at home in Clarksville, TN, formerly of Ewa Beach and Kapolei, Hawaii. He was born June 26, 1931 in California. He lived in joy, always a listening ear and a caring heart to anyone who knew him. He was last a member of LifePoint Church, where he loved to serve members and his community. He used to serve and sing in the choir for over 25 years at St. Andrew's Cathedral in Honolulu, HI. James was a Special Ed Teacher at Waianae Intermediate School when he retired.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 36 years, Rosemary Provost Jordan, on October 6, 2001. James brother Royal Peck, passed on February 16, survived by his widow, Elizabeth, James’ favorite Sister-in-Law, and Sister in Christ, He is survived by his friend Rose Hudson of Clarksville, his sisters Judy Peck Nelon of Nashville, TN,  Sharon Rose Peck, and Linda J. Harkins, his children David (Annie) and Steven (Elizabeth) Byron, James Lawrence Jordan, Catherine Jordan Portillo, Rhonda Hooson (Ron), and Analisa Sanchez (Luis) their families, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

James loved family and travelled as much as he could to keep in touch and celebrate many joys. James leaves behind lifelong friends in many places he lived especially in Gilroy, CA, and Hawaii. James was a Veteran of the US Army, 3 years, and Navy, 1 yr 7 months, serving as a Correspondent during the Korean War.

An informal Memorial service will be held on June 17, 2020, at 4pm, at LifePoint Church, Clarksville, TN.

Our family also wants to have a Memorial Service in California and Hawaii to be held later this year to celebrate and bring together his friends and family as he so loved to bring people together in Joy as we celebrate many years and memories!
