Janet Ruth (Slaughter) Fleming

Janet Fleming, born on June 16, 1935, and departed from this world on September 6, 2023, has left an indelible mark on the lives of those who were fortunate enough to know her. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, dedicating her life to her family. Janet's love knew no bounds. Janet is survived by her youngest sister, Barbara Dunham. She was the guiding light in the lives of her three children: Sharon Abbott, Cherie Vazquez, and Michael Fleming. Her nurturing spirit extended to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Jason Williams, Michelle Abbott, Elizabeth Vazquez, Nathan Abbott, Jeremy Abbott, Isabel Vazquez, Leah Vazquez, Katie Fleming, Addy Fleming, Mossy Fleming, Ryan Williams, Christian Williams, Gabriela Kern, Naomi Kern, Maribela Vazquez, and Tirion Dukes, providing them with endless love, wisdom, and support.

Janet was not only a devoted family woman but also a successful entrepreneur. She and her late husband proudly owned and operated "Lee Rents" in Hopkinsville, KY, a testament to her strong work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit. Her business not only served her community but also reflected her determination and passion for providing for her family.

In addition to her many roles, Janet carried the memory and love for her late husband, Leon Fleming, who passed away in 2006.
Janet Fleming's legacy lives on in the hearts of her family and friends. Her kindness, strength, and boundless love will be remembered forever. As we say goodbye to a remarkable woman, let us also celebrate the beautiful life she led and the love she shared.
