Joann Gill (Whitehead)

Joann Gill, 84, passed from this earth on December 30, 2024 to be with her Lord and Savior. She is preceded in death by her parents, Will Wesley Whitehead and Sally Francis Moody Whitehead; six brothers; six sisters; her husband of 62 years, Edward Ray Gill; son, Gregory Ray Gill; daughter, Kimberly Ann Gill Allen (and baby); son-in-law, William "Billy" Allen; and her nephew, Frederick Joseph "Joey" Charles Wichers III. She was born and raised in Clarksville, TN, and retired from Frosty Morn and the Trane Company. 

Mrs. Gill was always known for her quick wit and infectious laugh. She was very vocal and you always knew where you stood with her. She loved sewing crafts and giving these crafts to family and friends as gifts. She is survived by a host of nieces; nephews; great nieces/nephews; great-great nieces/nephews; close and dear friends, Beverly Holloway and Danny Champagne; her Kenwood Baptist Church family; and many, many friends. 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on March 15, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Kenwood Baptist Church, 992 Peachers Mill Road, Clarksville, TN 37042. Pastor Derek Simonis will officiate. 

If you are so inclined, in lieu of flowers, it is requested that a donation instead be made in her memory to Kenwood Baptist Church, designated for Kenwood Youth – Youth/Camp Retreat. She was a strong believer in the youth attending gatherings to strengthen their faith. 

Mrs. Gill’s final resting place will be with her family at Tatum-Coleman Cemetery, 3912 Williamson Branch Roadd, Vanleer, TN.
