Born in Burlington, North Carolina on September 16, 1951. Departed on October 27, 2020 and resided in Goodlettsville, TN. John Lecell Stanford Jr., 69, of Goodlettsville passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 27, 2020.

John was born September 16, 1951 in Burlington, North Carolina. He grew up in Graham, North Carolina. He attended UNC at Chapel Hill. With a career spanning from account executive at Southern Bell Telephone Company to his retirement from the position of Regional Vice President at NEC America (Atlanta), John had the opportunity to travel the world.

He met his wife, Betsy, in Orlando, Florida and they later moved to Atlanta, Georgia. John enjoyed watching sports such as golf, football, UNC basketball, and the Atlanta Braves. Above all else, he appreciated time spent with his family.

John was preceded in death by his parents John and Mozelle Lynn Stanford. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Betsy, daughters Jessica (James) Kirk and Katie (Alan) Dietz, granddaughter Maxyne Dietz, sisters Teresa Horner, Jeanne Isley, Connie Smith, brothers-in-law Brett Wright and Kevin Gann, and nieces and nephews.
