Leslie (Tom) Lawrence, age 75 of Adams, TN, passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2019 in Adams. He was born on March 4, 1944 in Davidson County Tennessee to Leslie and Jewelia (Empson) Lawrence, who precede him in death. Also preceding him in death are two brothers, David and Jimmy Lawrence. He married Jean Anthony on August 28, 1999 in Adams, TN and she survives.
Leslie is survived by 6 step-children, 10 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren and a host of very much loved nieces and nephews. Also surviving are 2 sisters, Jane (Steve) Wilkerson and Liz (Chip) Smith and 2 brothers, Mike (Joyce) Lawrence and Joel (Colleen) Lawrence.
He was a man who loved God and His creations. He loved to hunt and fish and enjoyed being in the outdoors. He was a Revolutionary War and Civil War era enthusiast who also performed in re-enactments of those time periods. He was devoted to his family and loved them dearly. He met his Lord when he crossed over Jordan on March 28th.
He also faithfully served his country in the Army National Guard for six years.
Family and friends may visit at the Adams United Methodist Church, on March 31, 2019 from 12:30-3:00pm with a memorial service to follow at 3pm.
The family would like to thank Avalon Hospice and the staff of White Haven Assisted Living for the wonderful care they provided and the love that was shown to Leslie and his family. In Lieu of flowers the family would ask that donations be made to St. Jude’s Paralyzed Veterans or Wounded Warriors.
