Marcella (Hester) Brown

Marcella Hester Brown was born on October 13, 1952 in Elizabethtown, NC, formerly of Bladenboro, NC. She departed this life on September 29, 2023 at her home in Clarksville, TN.

Marcella joined Bryant Swamp Baptist Church at an early age. She attended Spaulding Monroe School in Bladenboro, NC. She worked at Converse Shoe Factory for Eighteen years until it closed, then she worked thirteen years in hospitality services until she fell ill.

She is preceded in death by her father, Levie Hester, Sr. She leaves to cherish her memories one daughter, Teresa Hester; four special great-grandchildren: Messiah M., Janiya Colman, Abagail Coleman, and Gabriel Carlie Hammonds; and best friend and cousin, Judy Gill of St. Paul’s, NC.
