Marion Gilbert Hartley, Jr.

Marion G Hartley, Jr., age 73, passed away in his home unexpectedly on September 22, 2021 in Clarksville, Tennessee due to complications from heart disease. Marion was born on January 16, 1948 in Marion, OH to Marion G Hartley, Sr. and Rebecca J Hartley Weis who preceded him in death.

He graduated from Cardington Lincoln High School in 1966. He went on to attend Olivet Nazarene University where he graduated with a degree in music. He worked as a food and beverage director for over forty years in the ski industry throughout the western part of the United States. He toured Europe with the All State Ohio Choir. He enjoyed playing the piano, singing, cooking, traveling, and woodworking. His favorite place was the many years he spent in the beautiful Colorado Rocky Mountains. He spent the last few years of his life exploring the Philippines and getting to know the native people he came to love.

Marion is survived by his children: Jodi Hartley-Garcia, Andy Hartley, Jarod Hartley, and Tricia Moke; sisters, Becky Adams and Theresa Schnitlzer; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Marion will be cremated and his ashes laid to rest with his mom. There will be a private celebration of his life with an exact date yet to be determined.
