Clarksville
Melissa Anne DesJardins, "Missy", “Mom”, “Mimi”, age 57, of Clarksville, passed away on Monday, April 1, 2024 surrounded by family following a long battle with cancer. She was the grooming business owner of Delightful Dog. Melissa was born in New London, Connecticut, raised in Clinton, Maryland, and became a resident of Clarksville, Tennessee in 1999. She is survived by her two sons, Kenneth "Donny" Vermillion and Christopher Vermillion; grandchildren: Tannon Vermillion, Noah Vermillion, and Kamden Vermillion; parents, Katherine Zalesney and David DesJardins; siblings: Kathy (John d. 2019) Conn, John DesJardins, Paul (Amanda) DesJardins, and Carey (David) Roesler; and 12 nieces and nephews.
Melissa attended the New York School of Dog Grooming and has been the business owner of Delightful Dog in Clarksville for 18 years. She was passionate about the humane and respectful care of animals and treated every pet client as if he/she was her own.
Melissa was an avid dog lover; gardener; very generous towards her family, friends, and colleagues; and absolutely adored her grandchildren. She appreciated making memories with family by the ocean and shooting nerf guns at stuffies with her grandsons. The memory of Melissa will live on in all the hearts she touched.
A good heart has stopped beating, but a heart that has touched so many lives can't help but live on in those it loved. Melissa was a treasure; she had a laugh that could never be forgotten. Those we love don't go away; they walk beside us in our hearts and memories.
There will be no services. Donations can be made in Melissa's honor to the Humane Society of Clarksville-Montgomery County, 940 Tennessee Ave., Clarksville, TN 37040.
