Michael Edward Stibbles, a proud veteran of the Army, passed away April 4, 2024. Michael grew up in Wyandotte, Michigan. He was born on August 20, 1948. At the age of 18, Michael was drafted into the Army. He valued this service highly and attained the rank of sergeant and served in the Vietnam war. As part of his service, he was presented with the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Bronze Star Medal.
Michael married the woman of his dreams, Diana Marie Garry on October 20, 1999. They spent their time enjoying the wonderful outdoors, time with their family and praising God’s grace. He is known for his infectious smile and personality. He always had a sense of humor. He was faithful and loyal to his family and our Lord and Savior.
Michael is survived by his wife, Diana Marie Stibbles and his children: Alicia Stibbles Suntken (Aaron), Marilyn Garry (James), Carolyn Aikens, and Daniel Lehman (Sherry); his grandchildren: William Garry, Joshua Garry (Alicia), Stephanie Todd, and Paul Lehman; great grandchildren: William Garry, Kyle Garry, Shaylee Garry, Keira Garry, Kyleigh Garry, Jonathan Timmons, Austin Timmons, and Amber Timmons; great-great grandchild, Addilyn Garry; sisters, Margaret Stibbles Gildon, Karen Stibbles Stuffle (John), and Dana Stibbles Friess (Douglas); as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Maude Rose Sawdon and Stewart Gordon Stibbles and brother-in-law, Henry Gildon.
Michael worked 35 years at St. Joseph Hospital during his career. He enjoyed helping people in the medical field, spending time with family, and socializing with friends and family.
