Patricia Anne Lewis (Zumwalde)

Patty Zumwalde Lewis passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at Select Specialty Hospital in Nashville, TN. She was surrounded by her loving family and while listening to Dolly Parton, ShaniaTwain, Reba Macintire, and all of her favorite music. Her new address is Heaven.

Patty’s father, Joseph, was a Navy man and the family traveled extensively. She was born in San Diego, CA, and the family also lived in Oahu, HI, Fall Church, VA, Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, Washington DC, and Moorhead, MN. She considered Minnesota and Tennessee her home states. In 1984, she married the love of her life, Roger Lewis and in 1990, while living in Belgium where Roger was a military contractor, she gave birth to their son, Nick. They have lived in Clarksville since 1993.

Family was always the central to Patty’s life, both her biological family and her faith family. Her father, Joseph, passed away in 1986 and her mother, Sharon, passed away January of 2021. Patty’s sister, Kathy and brother, Bill were all best friends and were able to spend Patty’s final days together. Patty’s faith family were the members of the New Providence Church of Christ, many of whom visited to celebrate her 60th birthday on February 19.

Patty was the queen of hugs. She never met a stranger and when you met Patty, you knew her whole life history in ten minutes. For many years, Patty was a scout leader and a little league baseball scorekeeper. She loved to bake and make Norwegian lefse and krumkake. She enjoyed being outside and working in the garden. She had one of the sweetest dispositions and loved everyone.

Patty is survived by husband, Roger; son, Nick; Nick’s wife, Karis (Hamilton); their two children, Bowen and Raimey; sister, Kathy (David) Wahlberg; brother, Bill (Linda) Zumwalde; and numerous cousins, nephews, and nieces.

Patty struggled without complaint for many years with health issues comforted by her confidence in faith and family. She is at peace now and free of pain. She lives with Jesus and keeps an eye on us all while awaiting our reunion.
