Rex Thompson, 74, of Clarksville, TN, passed away peacefully on January 2, 2025, following a brief illness, surrounded by his beloved wife and children. Born in Troy, OH, on June 20, 1950, Rex lived a life full of love, laughter, and music. 

Rex found joy in simple pleasures and meaningful connections. He adored his family, his loyal companion Zeus, and his bass guitar, his love of all thing’s music served as the soundtrack to both his and his loved ones' lives. An avid reloader and a lover of life's intricacies, Rex never met a stranger and always had a story to share.

His professional journey included the U.S. Army and work at Modcomp, Atlantic Richfield, UCAR Carbon (Union Carbide/GrafTech), and Radio Shack, where he built a legacy of dedication and integrity.

Rex is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Bernice Thompson. He is survived by his devoted wife, Dina (Hedrick) Thompson; cherished children: Ryan (Jessica) Thompson, Jennifer (Demond) Buck, Rebeka DeChant, and Ryan (Valerie) Nunez; 15 grandchildren; and his two great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to say a special thank you to the nurses of Hospice (LHC Group), whose compassionate care made it possible for Rex to remain at home surrounded by his loved ones in those precious last days.
