Sandra was a family loving, TV watching, social media scrolling, loving, stern, God-fearing, and everything in between, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many. Sandra Marchelle Lowrance, 78, of Clarksville, TN (formerly of Elkhart, IN) died on September 11, 2024.
She was born in Detroit, MI in 1946 to Edward Mack and Anna Clare Lowrance. Sandra had many friends growing-up, but few held a place in her heart like Barb Powell and Jackie Smith. Sandra attended Elkhart High School. She did many jobs throughout her life but spent most of her time as seamstress in the RV and boating industries.
Sandra had two children, Andrea (David) Hedrick and Michael Pierce. Sandra taught Andrea and Michael how to work hard, get things done, and what happens when you do not. Into adulthood she became a mentor, friend, grandmother and surrogate mom to many. Sandra took everyone in and loved them all no matter the circumstances. She also wasn’t afraid to give them a piece of her mind if needed.
One of Sandra’s most important and beloved roles was that of a grandmother. She cherished her time with all her “babies”. She had four grandchildre: Scott Sigerfoos, Michael Ravenscroft, Nathan Pierce, and Cory Hedrick. She also had seven great-grandchildren.
Faith in God was very important to Sandra. You could always count on her getting dressed to impress every week in her Sunday best dragging her oldest grandson along every-step of the way. Sandra loved the Lord and spent lots of time studying the Bible, praying, attending church and doing her best to pass along the love of God to others that she had found.
Sandra leaves a huge hole in the hearts of her family. A laughter that was distinctly hers will forever be missed. Sandra was an amazing cook. Fried chicken, goulash, and hot dog stuff were just a few of her signature dishes. Gathering the family around food was one of her amazing gifts. Family meant everything to her.
Sandra is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Clara Lowrance and brothers, Johnny and Eddie Lowrance. She is survived by her daughter, Andrea (David) Hedrick; son, Micheal Pierce; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
There will be a private family service at a later date.
